Calumet Farm Bourbon
Distillery: Calumet Farm.  Lexington, KY
Age: 6 YR
Proof: 86
Nose: Floral
Palate: Oak/Vanilla
Color: Deep amber
Notes: Calumet Farm Bourbon could be classified as a "high rye" bourbon in that the grain bill is the requisite 50%+ corn with the remaining a blend of rye and a touch of malted barley. They suggest looking for flavor notes of butterscotch, brown sugar, and white pepper (the latter, no doubt, from the rye grain). The name stems from the Calumet Farm of Lexington Kentucky which, under the guidance and ownership of William Monroe Wright, won 8 Kentucky Derbies and 2 triple crowns.
